Yahara watershed exploration (required; 8 hours). Steve Laubach, EPS staff and Eric Booth, UW Yahara Watershed NSF research group. Join Steve and Eric for a tour of the Yahara that will help you teach about how your school, organization, or neighborhood fits into the watershed. Traveling together on a bus, we will make a complete loop around the Madison area’s lakes, stopping at or pointing out most of the streams and rivers that connect to the lakes. We will learn how to collect data on water clarity, visit a City of Madison water utility well, and stop at farms and local businesses practicing water conservation. To sign up, please contact Steve Laubach (slaubach@wisc.edu). (Note: This event is free, and breakfast is provided, but you will need to bring a bag lunch and snacks.)
